Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning spinning wheel. These are a system of seven energy centers located along the spine. Each chakra corresponds to an area of the body, a set of behavioral characteristics and stages of spiritual growth. Understanding how to fine tune and control your chakras through meditation and other daily practices can help bring balance and peace to your mind, body and spirit, improve your health and well-being and achieve your goals and dreams.
In this intro to the seven chakras you will learn how each chakra is associated with a particular body location, a color, a central emotional/behavioral issue, as well as many other personal aspects including identity, goals, rights, etc.
The seven chakras are:
Muladhara or Root- located at the base of the spine and its color is red.
This chakra deals with survival at the expense of someone else (like a baby in the womb) and is associated with self-worth and self-trust issues.
Svadhisthana or Sacral- two fingers below the belly button and its color is orange.
This chakra also deals with survival, but in this case is with the survival of everyone else's at your expense. The emotions associated with this chakra are insecurity, feeling the urge to help others, dissatisfaction, feeling unsupported, and with empathy.
